The CD6 (Centre for development of sensors, instruments and systems) is a technological innovation center established in 1997 with the aim of fostering the R+D activities in the field of Optical Engineering developed in the Terrassa Campus of the Technical University of Catalonia. The collaboration with CD6 & UPC has been maintained over time resulting in 13 collaboration agreements, and the generation of two patent families. We are also collaborating as teachers within the master’s degree of photonics taught by the university.

The Manufacturing Metrology Team conducts foundational research to enable the next generation of offline and online metrology tools for advanced manufacturing methods, including precision manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing with high dynamic range. The team investigates the specification of metrological properties of confocal microscopy for measuring additive manufacturing technologies. Sensofar also maintains a long-term relationship with Professor Richard Leach to carry out doctoral theses and write books on optical metrology.
