Partnerships
The CCAT (Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology) is a premier manufacturing technology provider equipped with the most advanced assets to support its core focus areas: advanced design, automation, metrology, and additive/hybrid manufacturing of materials (metals, polymers, and fiber-reinforced composites). As a 501c3 organization, CCAT collaborates with large and small technology companies across multiple industries, including Fortune 500 corporations, industrial supply chain companies, federal and state entities, and academia to deliver technical solutions to complex challenges.
The CD6 (Centre for development of sensors, instruments and systems) is a technological innovation center established in 1997 with the aim of fostering the R+D activities in the field of Optical Engineering developed in the Terrassa Campus of the Technical University of Catalonia. The collaboration with CD6 & UPC has been maintained over time resulting in 13 collaboration agreements, and the generation of two patent families. We are also collaborating as teachers within the master’s degree of photonics taught by the university.

PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) is the National Metrology Institute of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks. PTB measures with the highest accuracy and reliability – metrology as the core competence. PTB stands for progress and reliability in metrology for the benefit of society, trade and industry, and science. Sensofar maintains close collaboration with PTB providing systems and developing technology for the traceability and design of new metrology standards.

The Manufacturing Metrology Team conducts foundational research to enable the next generation of offline and online metrology tools for advanced manufacturing methods, including precision manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing with high dynamic range. The team investigates the specification of metrological properties of confocal microscopy for measuring additive manufacturing technologies. Sensofar also maintains a long-term relationship with Professor Richard Leach to carry out doctoral theses and write books on optical metrology.

We are working closely together to innovate future technologies alongside industry and academia. Both the MTC and Sensofar are interested in pursuing leading edge metrology solutions through collaborations in advanced manufacturing projects for the industry in the UK.
