Certificate of Excellence for Russian Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology
Sensofar Metrology has established a new distribution agreement with Energoavangard Ltd. for the regions of Russia, Belorussia and Kazakhstan. Founded in 1999 and based in Moscow, Russia, Energoavangard Holdings is a group of companies that equips businesses with industrial, laboratory and analytical equipment as well as chemical supplies.
In order to ensure better acceptance of Sensofar’s product portfolio in these regions, Energoavangard obtained a certificate demonstrating compliance with Russian metrology standards for Sensofar’s instruments, valid for the next five years. This certification entitles use of, for example, the S neox in industries that rely on Russian metrology standards, and that in addition allows recalibration of the S neox according to these standards.
Within a short period, Energoavangard has already positioned Sensofar Metrology’s 3D optical profilers with two reference customers focused in the aerospace market, Joint Stock Company „Russian Space Systems“(JSC “RSS” is a leading Russian enterprise in design, production, author’s supervision and operation of space information systems) and FUSE VIAM (All-Russian scientific research institute of aviation materials).
The next application-relevant trade show for this segment is the 11th International Exhibition of Testing and Measuring Equipment Aerospace Testing & Industrial Control, to be held from October 28-30, 2014 at the Crocus Expo in Moscow. Sensofar’s products can be viewed at the Energoavangard stand (D317, Pavilion 1, Hall 2).
Another important market for Sensofar Metrology lies in the characterization of facetted gems. Cutting a rough stone so that it becomes a faceted gem of regular shape and proportions yields the diamond’s maximum brilliance, fire and sparkle. A diamond’s shape and proportions, together with the quality of its cut and polishing, have the greatest influence on its fire and sparkle – and so too on its value. Roughly 99% of the world’s diamond mining is concentrated in just nine countries, with the world’s largest producers of natural diamonds being Russia, Botswana and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Russian government-run ALROSA has nine primary diamond mines and ten alluvial mines as well as two mines in development. These account for approximately 95% of all Russian diamond production, making ALROSA the leader of the global diamond mining industry (ALROSA’s mines represent eight out of the top 15 largest producing diamond mines in the world in terms of carats produced).
ENERGOAVANGARD’s facilities also have a demonstration laboratory, where sample 3D profiling tests can be performed on request.
